A Day in the Life of a Copywriter

Here's how I approach the process of creating an ad, be it digital, print, B2B or B2C...

Step 1: Write

To get to the good ideas, you've got to empty your mind of the bad ones.

 

Step 2: Sketch

When inspiration is lurking, it's critical to exercise every part of the mind.

 

Step 3: Comp

Now I work with a graphic designer to mock up rough comps to bring the concepts to life. 

 

Step 4: Execute

Once the client chooses a concept they like, I'm left to write as many executions as possible. At this point, I completely hand off the design to the artist to create final color comps.
